A VERY BRIEF HISTORY

Up and coming artists Arlo Mac are a four-piece alternative rock band from Hawkes Bay New Zealand. Harry Mason (vocals and guitar), Joe Ledword (bass), Ben Bush (lead guitar) and Jack Waddington (drums) are the high school musicians making sweet noise in the Aotearoa music scene.

In November 2019, at the tender age of 16 and 17, these boys catapulted themselves into the glitterati of NZ music by winning first place in national competition Smokfreerockquest.

The last seven months have been epic! Audiences in their thousands were treated to their powerhouse of a show at popular annual Hawkes Bay events, Christmas In The Park and New Year's Eve at the Soundshell. Swiftly followed by opening for Australasian superstars Spacey Jane at Meow in Wellington, a sell-out gig at The Tuning Fork in Auckland and playing their first festival at Outfield.

With influences from Blues, Jazz, Rock and Indie, their eclectic sound combines edgy, pitch-perfect vocals with expressive guitar breaks. Their debut single Ease My Mind flew into the charts, rapidly gaining 120,000+ streams on Spotify. Cutting their teeth in the recording studio, Ease My Mind was recorded at Roundhead Studios, produced by Simon Gooding with the band being mentored by Chris Mac (Six 60)

Off the back of all this excitement, their recent focus has been on recording more of their sound. Their new track Shifter was funded by NZ on Air and a stunningly cinematic, 'fish slapping' video soon followed. Mr Entity has been in the pipeline for some time was released at the same time.
